So far, so good.
I've been taking notes here and there, I've been snapping away some photos with my handy iPhone here and there, but the biggest limitation I've had here w/blogging is the lack of Wi-Fi in the barracks. Internet access is limited to a shared, public area with more people trying to get online than there are available terminals.
I'm hoping to be able to blog a bit more as there are rumors of Wi-Fi coming around soon. Amazingly, I may have a much easier time blogging from overseas.

In the old days, we'd write our content offline, and then just batch upload it when we got the mainframe cycles.

I was just given an iPhone for my birthday and I vaguely thought I had seen something about creating a WiFi "Hot Spot" with it. I guess it is a case of RTFM.

Wow...within just a few hours of this post, and you guys' comments, one of our whiz-bang computer network guys in the barracks offered to put me on to his personal wireless network.
I now have Internet access, so no need to tether, batch upload, or even to RTFM.. ;-).
That's a relief...I'm looking forward to reports from Texas and beyond.
